The Over 55s’ Art Class had the unveiling of their drawings, which are on show on a Higgins building site hoarding in Central Street.

The Mayor of Islington gave a small speech, followed by a short reception kindly funded by St Luke’s User Committee. Drawings are based on the archaeological artefacts found on the site which include some related to St Bartholomew’s Hospital which owned the land in the 18th century. It’s estimated that many of the remains, including pottery, were from the 16th Century. This inspired the art work – which will be on display for the next 18 months.

Go along and take a look at their hard work!
