Setting off from the ground floor reception area inside St Luke's every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month at 11am, our friendly walking group go on walks locally and further afield to places of interest in the London area. The walks are for people who are able to get around unaided and are able to use public transport. All walks led by a Walk Leader.

ST LUKE'S WALKS AUTUMN 2023

An example of a previous walk: We start the new year with a walk from Theobolds Road down to the river at Temple, via the Inns of Court, finishing at the Twinnings Tea museum and shop near Aldwych. The precise route will be subject to the weather on the day! However, we will be able to sample some teas and view the Twinnings exhibits, but as there is no actual cafe there, we shall head towards somewhere in the Strand / Fleet Street for a snack and coffee. We'll meet as usual at St Luke's @ 11am, followed by a short bus ride to Holborn.

An example of a previous walk: Thursday 10th November 2022: A tour and a talk - "An Address in Bloomsbury" - with Alec Forshaw. Alec is someone I have known for years. He is an architectural historian, a Board Trustee at Heritage of London Trust and a published author. He was a conservation officer in Islington for 32 years. We will visit his house at 49 Great Ormond Street which has the most fascinating history. We will get the 55 bus. Alec is expecting us at noon and the visit will take about an hour. We should have time for a short stroll around Great Ormond Street before going to meet Alec.
