Chair of St Luke’s welcomes new Trustees

Don Kehoe, Chair at St Luke’s Trust, has welcomed four new trustees to the Trustee Board serving St Luke’s Community Centre in Central Street, EC1. The appointments also include a new Director of St Luke’s Trading Company and a member of the new Marketing and Communications Working Committee.

Don says: “We welcome some new faces and look forward to them contributing their expertise to help us continue serving our community. All six new appointees have strong local links and know our area well, and have an enthusiasm to help expand St Luke’s community reach and help more people in the area”.   

New appointments at St Luke’s:

Crispin Rapinet, Trustee: Crispin is a partner in the international law firm, Hogan Lovells, and has worked in the EC1 area for 30 years. He has overseen the growth and development of Hogan Lovells' Pro Bono and Community Investment programmes, including its partnership with St Luke's.

David Vasserman, Trustee: David has been a GP at Neaman NHS Practice since 1990, working and living in the area for 27 years. He has been involved in the medical education of undergraduate students and trainee junior doctors, and is part of the City and Hackney Clinical Commissioning Group.

Katie Hardyment, Trustee: Katie has lived in London all her life, and in south Islington for the past five years. She works at the BBC, helping controllers, editors and producers understand their audiences. She has created programmes that tackle social issues like mental health and support young people with training, confidence and job opportunities.

Ray O’Halloran, Trustee: Ray has always held a strong belief in having an active role within the local community.  He is a ‘local boy’, born and bred in Islington.  He is chairman of his estate’s  local Tenants’ and Residents’ Association (TRA), was a founding governor of the local school and he is involved in safeguarding and recruitment with them.    

In addition we welcome:

Charmaine Yap, appointed Director of St Luke’s Trading Limited: Charmaine has been working in the financial services industry in the City for over six years, and lives locally. She holds a Masters degree from the London Business School.

Billy Mann, appointed to Communications and Marketing Working Committee: Billy was a journalist and has lived on the Golden Lane Estate for over 20 years, and been a member of St Luke’s for three years. Billy does voluntary work as a teaching assistant and for Headway East London, a charity supporting people with brain injury.
