Festive Fun at St Luke's

CEO Michael Ryan explains: "Christmas can be a lonely time for certain members of our community, particularly the elderly and disadvantaged. Our mission throughout the year at St Luke's is to alleviate loneliness and social isolation, so Christmas is an important time to really bring everyone together in our community centre."

Saturday 9^th December, 12-4pm: annual Christmas Fayre, with fun for all the family including crafting and cooking, live music, dancing, singing and much more. All welcome, free admission.
Tuesday 19^th December, 12-4pm: our over 55s members lunch followed by singing and dancing in the Garden Room.
Christmas Day, 12-4pm: Christmas meal and party for anyone in Islington who might be by themselves on the day. Bookings must be made in advance at St Luke's reception. Transport can be arranged.

We have a Christmas Giving campaign on our website for anyone who would like to contribute, and 100% of that contribution goes to our beneficiaries: https://www.slpt.org.uk/Appeal/christmas-giving-campaign.

St Luke's also runs a community fridge, for those struggling to afford food. It is open every Thursday and Friday afternoon, for anyone who is signed up at St Luke's reception.

Within easy walking distance of Old Street, Angel and Barbican tube stations and many bus routes, we have modern, well-appointed spaces for any meeting or event. We understand the uncertainty of booking a room. We have adapted our T&Cs so you can cancel with a full refund a week before your event.

What we do and who we help

We are a community hub in South Islington providing services, activities and events for local residents of all ages, including after school clubs, employment support and gardening for older people. Our large, modern community centre on Central Street is a great backdrop for our varied activities and we have several outdoor areas for visitors to enjoy. Our spaces are also available to hire for community groups or private functions.
Garden Room

The largest of our meeting rooms, the Garden Room has its own private entrance from the street and exclusive use of a terrace garden. It is a blank canvas to create the right setting and configuration for your event, and benefits from neutral, stylish décor and is flooded with dappled natural light.

Do you live in our area of benefit? You could become a member at St Luke's for a one-off charge of just £5. Our Centre offers services and activities every day for all ages, including art, exercise and gardening groups and a daily lunch club.
Lunches at St Luke's

Islington locals who are over 55 can enjoy a subsidised, freshly-made three-course lunch at St Luke's every weekday in our dining room. The menu changes daily, and includes a roast on Wednesday and fish and chip Friday! Anyone with mobility issues can discuss transport to and from the Centre with us. Find out more here.

Families and Children in South Islington

We offer a range of free activities and support for families living in south Islington. From free after school kids' clubs, giving children the opportunity to try different activities, to school holiday camps, there's something to suit every family. Find out what St Luke's has to offer.
The Loft

The Loft occupies the whole third floor of the Community Centre, and has exclusive use of an entrance (ante) room, kitchen area and toilet, within this spacious and versatile area. It is bright and airy, and ideal for meetings, conferences, training, seminars or less formal events. Its exposed Victorian steel beams and skylight windows offer wonderful views over the roof tops of London.

St Luke's may only use its own funds on charitable purposes supporting people living within a defined geographical area. We call this our area of benefit.
