Bright Start Islington has been the new name for children’s centre services since 1st September 2017. As well as childcare and early education, Bright Start Islington offers lots of activities and services for under fives and their families, including health visiting, stay and plays, and help to find work. Bright Start venues are places you can meet other parents, support each other, and you can make your voice heard by getting involved in designing and reviewing local services.

Since the beginning of September we have also been working hard to deliver in venues closer to where lots of our families live such as in community centres like Tompian and Herongate House. Community centres like St Luke’s already have good links with the local community and we have been working together to deliver some joint priorities such as healthy lifestyles. Many of you will hopefully have attended our recent Well-Being event, ‘Spring in Your Step’ and we are hoping to join up for more events in the future.

It is extremely important to us that services we deliver meet the needs of local families and there are lots of opportunities to get involved such as:

  • helping out at activities
  • attending Early Childhood Area Partnership meetings
  • taking part in surveys
  • volunteering
