The St Luke’s Over 55s team are very pleased to be working in partnership with local community arts charity, All Change, the London Borough of Islington Arts Service, Library Service and Greenspaces to create a new sensory garden in King Square Gardens.

The sensory garden is being planned and designed by a community artist in a series of workshops with a group of our older members who have dementia, sensory issues and other health problems.  The group have already enjoyed a visit to the proposed site and are now exploring designs, colours, smells and sounds.  Everybody involved is very much looking forward to creating this oasis of quiet contemplative space for visitors of all ages to sit, relax and enjoy our busy neighbourhood.

This sensory garden project has been kindly supported by S106 funding as recommended by the Bunhill Ward Councillors and will be officially opened as part of the Word Festival in June 2018.
