FREE & CONFIDENTIAL service, booking essential. Can offer advice on divorce or separation, domestic abuse, disputes between parents and/or the local authority.

In partnership with McCormacks Law, a local firm of solicitors, this advice service is available for people living, working or studying in Islington. McCormacks also offer legal aid funding (where available) should you need to go to court and should you qualify.

Support for carers

Carers UK visit St Luke's on the first Monday of every month from 10.30am-12pm and offer an informal, friendly, drop-in, advice, information and support group for all carers. For more details please ring Sarah Goodall on 020 7549 8175.
Well-being for over 55s

The St Luke’s Over 55s team is available Monday to Friday from 9am-4.30pm to give advice, information and support to older residents, their family and carers. Simply pop in and ask for a member of the Over 55s Team or to make an appointment ring the manager, Sarah Goodall, on 020 7549 8175.
MP and Councillors advice surgeries

Emily Thornberry, Labour MP for Islington South & Finsbury, holds monthly surgeries at St Luke's Community Centre for all local constituents on the first Friday morning of every month. For an appointment please telephone the Constituency Advice Line on 020 7697 9307.
Welfare benefits and debt advice

Welfare and Debt Advice clinic are provided by Islington People’s Rights, (IPR) from St Luke’s Family Hub (by appointments only) every Thursday from 9 am-1 pm.

St Luke's Room Hire in South Islington

Within easy walking distance of Old Street, Angel and Barbican tube stations and many bus routes, we have modern, well-appointed spaces for any meeting or event. We understand the uncertainty of booking a room. We have adapted our T&Cs so you can cancel with a full refund a week before your event.

What we do and who we help

We are a community hub in South Islington providing services, activities and events for local residents of all ages, including after school clubs, employment support and gardening for older people. Our large, modern community centre on Central Street is a great backdrop for our varied activities and we have several outdoor areas for visitors to enjoy. Our spaces are also available to hire for community groups or private functions.
Garden Room

The largest of our meeting rooms, the Garden Room has its own private entrance from the street and exclusive use of a terrace garden. It is a blank canvas to create the right setting and configuration for your event, and benefits from neutral, stylish décor and is flooded with dappled natural light.

Do you live in our area of benefit? You could become a member at St Luke's for a one-off charge of just £5. Our Centre offers services and activities every day for all ages, including art, exercise and gardening groups and a daily lunch club.
Lunches at St Luke's

Islington locals who are over 55 can enjoy a subsidised, freshly-made three-course lunch at St Luke's every weekday in our dining room. The menu changes daily, and includes a roast on Wednesday and fish and chip Friday! Anyone with mobility issues can discuss transport to and from the Centre with us. Find out more here.

Families and Children in South Islington

We offer a range of free activities and support for families living in south Islington. From free after school kids' clubs, giving children the opportunity to try different activities, to school holiday camps, there's something to suit every family. Find out what St Luke's has to offer.
The Loft

The Loft occupies the whole third floor of the Community Centre, and has exclusive use of an entrance (ante) room, kitchen area and toilet, within this spacious and versatile area. It is bright and airy, and ideal for meetings, conferences, training, seminars or less formal events. Its exposed Victorian steel beams and skylight windows offer wonderful views over the roof tops of London.
