Our stylish, contemporary Cookery School in central London opened in 2012 as a self-funding facility to enable St Luke’s to deliver free or low-cost cookery classes and projects to benefit our community, which are funded by the private hire of the School.

The Cookery School can be privately hired at reasonable rates for any kind of cooking event, from product launches to market research, filming to photoshoots, or to deliver your own cookery classes.  We can provide bespoke corporate cookery classes, team building events and corporate entertainment. It is a great venue for hen parties, birthday celebrations and Christmas dos, and benefits from a beautiful dining room and an outdoor eating area.

Through generating income from private hire, we can deliver low-cost cookery classes and projects to benefit our local community. In recent months we have run a course to help unemployed Islingtonians find work in catering, we’ve supported people with health conditions like diabetes and every week we teach local families and over 55s how to create healthy, home cooked meals with everyday, fresh ingredients.

In five years, with your help, we have been able to deliver over 800 classes that have had an impact on around 19000 people!

Our school also manages a community fridge and each week we are able to share with local families an average of 15kg of good food that otherwise would go to waste.

Central Street Cookery School has built an excellent reputation since 2012, hosting prestigious events and launches for the food and wine industry. Our visitors have included top chefs Michel Roux Jr, Ainsley Harriot and John Torode. Some of our clients include the Bank of England, Sainsbury’s, ITV, Allianz, City of London Corporation and Olives from Spain.

Our school is part of St Luke’s Community Centre and we are conveniently located near Old Street, Angel and Barbican tube stations, on numerous bus routes and next to a cycle hire docking station.
