Bilingual Cookery Club The purpose of these classes is that of integrating members of different communities by cooking both in English and in native languages so food is used as a medium of communication. English speakers keen on learning second language are welcome to join. Over 55s Baking Sessions We like to have a lot of fun at St Luke’s and each month we have a tea party for our elderly members. Central Street Cookery School contributes to the fun by making cakes for these celebrations. Some of the recipes are rescued from our conversations with our elderly members and some are contributions from our great pastry chefs. By doing this the Cookery School contributes to events like Macmillan Cancer Coffee Mornings and other special dates like the Queen’s Jubilee and our local street party. Ready Steady Let's Cook! On Monday mornings we get together to cook with our adult community neighbours. Each week one of our chefs devises wonderful recipes from the food delivered by our generous donors. This way we not only cook together and strengthen community integration. Our cookery club has devoted regulars who love cooking and making new friends and we always welcome newcomers to our group. Monthly cookery club One evening every month we invite an expert chef to come to Central Street Cookery School and deliver a specialised class for those interested in learning new skills and cooking a delicious meal in a friendly group. Expand Classes have included cookery from around the world, vegetarian cookery and seasonal cookery, so the classes are varied. Costs are £5 for EC1 residents, and £30 for those living outside EC1. Advance booking is essential.
